Zoya Paz

Hey Guys!

Today I want to show you Zoya Paz.  I'm not sure neon orange is completely "appropriate" for January, but I am in such a fantastic mood.  I felt like this was the best way for me to show it.

Look how it glows!
I could still see a little VNL, but I really didn't want to ruin the gorgeous color with a white base coat  I feel like that would make it look more like a cream and less like a jelly.  And man, do I love a good jelly!

Kleancolor Chunky Copper

Ok so I will warn you beforehand...This mani is a total fail.  I'm not sure why I hate is so much, but it sucks.

First I painted on 2 coats of L'Oreal Outrageous, and then said to myself, "That's not enough.  Let's add glitter." Big mistake.  The Kleancolor Chunky Copper is a bit of chunky copper hex shaped glitters in a copper jelly base.  All the copper base did was turn the whole mani into an orange-rust disaster.  See for yourself.  I can't even believe I'm posting it.

I really enjoy both polishes separately, but I think it was just a really bad combination of the two.

Finger Paints Twisted

Hey Guys!

So sorry I haven't been posting.  I had to work 4 overnights at work, and so I slept all day and all weekend.  Then yesterday I went to celebrate my mom's birthday.  Unfortunately she is no longer with us, but my best friend and I went to put flowers on her grave.  We had a pretty great day.  Sad but great and full of memories.

Happy Birthday Mom!
Now I have another polish from the Effects collection by Finger Paints.  TWISTED!
I have to say, I think this is my favorite of the collection.  I'm not sure why.  Maybe I love that it's a rainbow or maybe I love that I layered it over Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier or IDK!  I just love it.

Love & Beauty Euphoria

Hey Bloggers!

This is a polish I've had for awhile, but just never got around to wearing.  I love the way glitters look; they just take so long to get off even with the foil treatment.
So I think for $2.80 from Forever 21, this polish pretty much rocks.  The color rocks.  The chunks of hex glitter rock.  I just wish there was bar glitter in there as well, but if I find some I can make it myself.

Wet 'N' Wild Gray's Anatomy Revisited

OOOH!  So let me tell you how much of a nerd I am.  Yesterday, I got off work, came home and set my TV reminder for the new episode of Grey's Anatomy.  (This is my all time favorite show.)  Next I took off my CG Dorothy Who? and proceeded to paint my nails in Wet 'N' Wild Gray's Anatomy just so I could be one with the show.  I know.  Lame, right?  Don't judge me.

Here is the best photos I could get of the pretty.  I was so gloomy outside yesterday.

China Glaze Dorothy Who?

Blue and glitter and sparkles, OH MY!

I am so excited to share this one with you all.  My best friend got married back in October and she gave all her bridesmaids these adorable, little Halloween inspired gifts.  We got spooky themed lotion and funky Halloween socks.  Candy corn flavored lip gloss and NAIL POLISH.  The nail polish wasn't so much Halloween themed as it was just personalized.  She picked a polish that she thought went with all of our colors, styles, and personalities, and I got China Glaze's Dorothy Who?

This is one of my favorite movies, and I watch it everytime it comes on TV and I know all the words.  Sad, I know.  Anyway, I finally got around to swatching the pretty little glitter, and man, was I excited.

Now you see why I was so excited?

Finger Paints Flecked

Hello Lovelies!

This one I have been waiting for since I saw the press release a few months ago.  Actually all of the Finger Paints Effects are fabulous, but I wanted to start with this one because green and black are my favorite colors.

First I have swatches of all of the Effects on a nail wheel.

L to R:  Asylum, Flashy, Twisted, Motley, and Flecked
I'm pretty sure those are in the correct order.  They are a little tough to tell in the bottle rather than on the nail.  By the way, they are all swatched on a navy base polish as well.

I don't know why I started from the opposite side.  Maybe it's because I'm left-handed and everyone says I'm always backwards.  No matter, like I said, green and black are my favorite colors, and that's what Flecked is.  It has a clear base with lots of flakies that turn from green to blue.

I know most of you probably have all of the Effects so I hope you liked this one as much as I do.  I got so many compliments on it too.  I will swatch the rest of them, but now all consecutively just so you guys know.

Zoya Lolly

Hello Ya Little Lovelies!

This little beauty is so bubblegum, it almost makes me sick.  It's Zoya Lolly.  A preppy pink creme polish with a matte finish.

This is not my favorite polish in the world.  I thought I would enjoy it more.  I do love the matte look, but Zoya Phoebe is still my favorite in the Mod Mattes collection.  Next I just have to find Mitzi.

OPI DS Mystery

I hope you all had a great start to 2012.  I know I did.  I just spent some time at home with my honey and my fur baby, Monster.

Happy New Year from Monster!  She's pissed.
We rang in the new year with some wine and lots of sleep.  As soon as midnight hit, I was in the bed passed out.  I enjoyed all the "Best of 2011" posts.  I don't have any favorites for 2011, but I do have OPI DS Mystery.

The first photos are in direct sunlight.  My camera freaked.

Look at all that glitter!
These are inside with flash.

DS Mystery is the best polish I've seen in awhile.  It was probably the most difficult to photograph.  It contains holo flecks in an almost black purple base.

New Year's Resolution and Deborah Lippmann

Hello and Happy New Year!

Today I wanted to share a little something with you all.  My new year's resolutions for 2012.  I never make them because they are so easy to break, but this year I'm determined to follow through.

My resolutions are to stop buying so much nail polish and to run my upcoming 5ks without stopping.

When it comes to the nail polish, I buy a new one (or 5) almost everytime I go to the store, but I own way too many as it is.  I am going to try to wear every polish I already own before I buy a new one.  This will be several months worth of swatching, but my wallet and my boyfriend will be super happy.

As for the 5ks I mentioned, there are two.  The first one is Warrior Dash, which is a 3 mile long obstacle course.  I ran it last year, but it took me forever because I was so out of shape, and I walked the last half.  The second is the most important to me.  It's called Run for the Rose and it's in support of brain cancer research.  My family and I are running it in memory of my mom.  When I ran last year, once again, I was so out of shape that I nearly died.  This year I really want to complete these without falling out on the course, and I think this resolution is more reachable than the ever popular "I want to lose weight this year".  If I train hard enough and complete them, then that will just be a bonus I guess.

What is your resolution?  I'd really love to hear them.

And now for a pretty polish.

This is Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air.  I don't really have any words.  I fell in love as soon as I saw it.  I love that it's pastel.  I love that the glitter is pastel.  I love that it looks like a glitter-jelly sandwich.  I LOVE IT!  It reminds me of babies or ice cream.  lol!

And then I added Essie Matte About You which I love way more.

I hope today is amazing for all of you and that it turns out to be the start of a wonderful year.
