Zoya Stacy

Today I have another one of those long awaited swatches that was delayed by Google+ auto-enhance.  It was showing more of a bright berry color rather than a darker, richer color.

This is only two coats of Zoya Stacy, which is my very first Zoya by the way.  I know it's a bit patchy and that's just because I didn't use three coats.  The application takes a bit of practice because it does apply a bit uneven and doesn't always self-level, but it is still one of my favorite Zoyas.  Each coat dries quickly which makes it such an easy color to slap on, walk out the door, and still have great nails with very little effort.  I'm all about things being easy.  I was hoping to post this during Fall since this was the color of the season but, ya know, Google+...  lol

Ugly Christmas Sweater

So I want to start off by saying that I am so sorry for disappearing yet again.  If you follow me on my Facebook fanpage, you may have seen my post about I needed a little bit of time to recollect and get my camera and laptop to work together.  I have been focusing a lot on my health and getting in shape and it's been taking up a lot of my time.  I think that's a pretty good reason to take some time away from blogging right?  Honestly I haven't actually painted my nails in about a month.  All of the photos you've been seeing are from a small stockpile.  However this "ugly Christmas sweater" mani is brand spankin' new!

I started with a base color of Zoya Stacy.  For the reindeer I used Zoya Purity and a skinny nail art brush.  I tried to make them have that pixeled or cross-stitch look.  For the trees I used a green nail art pen by Nabi and that's it.  Since I have nubbins I can't fit very much on them.  lol  I hope you all enjoyed the first of many Christmas manis to come. 

Nail Rock Velvet Nails Burgundy

I know you all have seen the caviar bead manis a few times from me, but I never managed to get into the velvet nails...until now.  I finally caved and bought a velvet nail kit from Nail Rock.  I found the brand at Walmart but I'm not sure if it can be found at any other retailers.

The color is burgundy, I swear.  The photos came out much brighter than the actual color.  As far as application, I have to say these were a nightmare.  lol The velvet was EVERYWHERE!  I mean you can just look at the photos and see fibers all over my skin.  The velvet comes in a little pot so I tried a few different techniques to get it on the actual nail.  I dipped my nail into the pot and that was not good.  I put some on a piece of paper and dumped it on the wet nail, but it didn't cover everything.  What I thought worked best was just dipping my finger in the pot (the velvet fibers stick to your fingers) and gently dabbing the velvet onto the wet/slightly tacky nail.

So will I ever use this product again?  Probably not unless someone can tell me a way to NOT make a mess.  lol  The kit was very affordable at just $6.00.  For that price I don't feel like I have to use it again but I can at the very least wear the nail polish again.  Have you all ever used this brand before and created your own velvet mani?  Let me know in the comments below!

Absolute Mia

Last year my uncle went on vacation to Germany and the only thing I could think was, "I wonder if he would be able to buy some nail polish for me?"  lol And of course he did.  This is one of my all-time favorite polishes.  Everything about it is flawless.

There are stores in Germany called Douglas and I believe this is their brand.  It's called Mia.  Mia is an almost black, deep burgundy creme.  Actually it's more of a crelly which is one of my favorite formulas.  It dries with a high gloss which is wonderful.  I don't even need a top coat but of course I used one anyway.

I tried my hardest to show the red and not so much black so I had to brighten the photo a bit for you.  However it didn't alter the true color at all.  It's actually a bit less black than the photos show.  I know this is such a fall color, but I have to say I'm really ready for fall.  I hate hot weather so I NEED fall to come.  lol

I really love this polish so much that I think I need a polish contact in Germany.  *cough cough*  lol Have a wonderful night and don't forget to leave your questions and comments below.  (:

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

God Morning Everyone!

I'm really excited to show you today's polish because I've had it forever and I wear it all the time, but I've never blogged about it. This is my all time favorite OPI polish and also my favorite Fall/Winter polish. The color is just so gorgeous and vampy.

I used two coats of this and if you don't already know, it applies so flawlessly. At first glance and to the untrained eye, it looks like just a black glossy polish. However it's actually a beautiful berry tone that (in my eyes) looks like plum or wine. I just love an almost-black polish. Oh and the gloss is with no TC. Awesome right?!

Anyway I hope this post turned out alright because I'm posting from my phone. I also used phone photos so let me know if they're okay.

Zoya Stacy + Mixed Metals

Good Evening Lovely Followers!

First of all, I love you guys.  That's all.  lol Second of all, let's get this started because I'm sleepy and I need a bath first.

Zoya Stacy is a burgundy, berry wine color with a creme finish.  I used 2 coats, but could have done well with 3.  There was some dragging, but only because I didn't wait in between coats.

So basically, I painted my nails before work this morning, why you ask?  Well I get to the mall 2 hours early due to transportation arrangements and so I have plenty of time to do my makeup, enjoy my coffee, etc.  Well I went through the whole day without any chips and then in the last hour, BAM!  I really wanted to show you all this beauty too.  I just forgot how much I really loved it.  So anyway, I came home and striped on some Ulta High Roller and Ruby Kisses Silver Bling and voila!
