Guest Post from Pointless Cafe: Round 2

So today is the very last day of all the guest posts because I am coming back tomorrow.  I hope you all enjoyed all of them and left them lots of great comments and feedback.  So let's see the second mani from Sheila of Pointless Cafe.

------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing to Disclose

I'm so happy to be back again to keep you guys company while Danielle's away! This time I thought I'd do a Halloween-themed mani for you!

Elsa Lanchester's Birthday was October 28th - she was basically a Halloween baby after all, so she's my inspiration for this one. (If you have to google Else Lanchester, please don't tell me!)

Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein

As you can tell, it's free-handed. LOL! I used a striping brush and this is one of those I'm pretty sure I stuck my tongue out just right for...I catch myself doing that more than I'd like to admit! Doesn't seem to help, but there ya go.

I used butter LONDON Dosh, AquaDaisy Shazaam and Milani black and white polishes for this one.

What do you think? Definitely not an every day mani, but cute for Halloween!

Come on over when you have time and check out Pointless Cafe!

Sheila

OMG how friggin' cute!  I think I talk to Sheila on a daily basis and she's always saying how she's terrible at nail art, but I think this proves her completely wrong.  Thank you again Sheila for closing out this amazing run of guest posts with something so awesome.  Now I can start showing everyone my Halloween manis.

And one more thing...TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!  I'll be 28 and can't even wait.  I'm too excited.  I will be back tomorrow with a birthday mani, of course, and then I'll be back to regular posting.  See you then! ♥

Guest Post from My Nail Polish Obsession

I'm still so sad that I can't be the one to show you all Halloween inspired manis, but at least a lot of my guest bloggers can, like Jen from My Nail Polish Obsession.  Check it out!

--------------------------------------------------------------

Hello readers!  I am happy to be here today guest posting for my good friend Danielle!  I'm Jen from My Nail Polish Obsession.  I love all styles of polish and I'm a huge fan of all the Fall and Halloween collections that come out every year.  Maybe it's just the colors?  Maybe it's that everyone gets so creative?  Whatever the reason, this is my favorite nail season.  So I decided to do something bright, fun and Halloween inspired for Polish. Glitter. Rock & Roll today!  I'm really proud of how it turned out and I hope you like it too!  You can follow me on my blog, Facebook and Instagram (mynailpolishobsession) to see more pictures of my manis.
And now on to the polish!  I started this mani with a gradient of 2 NOPI colors from the Tinkerbell collection.   Sweet on Pete is a not so pastel, but not so neon green-yellow creme.  It's really pretty and had a great creamy formula.  I also used Half-Charming Half-Alarming.  It's a bright red-orange crelly that really surprised me with how pretty it was.  I loved the formula as much as the color.  I put both of those colors on a makeup sponge and applied it to my nails.  I did this 3 to 4 times to get a good base.  I then covered the gradient nails with 3 layers of Lynnderella Early Halloween.  This is a fun glitter bomb full of purple, orange, green, blue, black and silver glitters in different shapes and sizes.  The mini stars get me every time, they are so cute.  On my accent nail I did stripes with plain old scotch tape.  I did 2 layers of Sweet on Pete, tape, then covered my whole nails with HCHA.  I pulled the tape off when the polish was still wet so there was no pulling.  I picked a cool skull decal for the accent nail to keep with my Halloween theme.  It was super easy to apply.  I peeled it off the sheet and stuck it on my nail.  1 layer of topcoat and I was good to go!

Thanks for reading!

Guest Post from Dizzy Little Digits

I'm really excited about this blogger's post mainly because I've done a guest post for her so when I needed a favor, she was there.  Oh and her mani is great too.  It's Denise from Dizzy Little Digits.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Hello all!
A big thank you to Danielle for inviting me over to visit with you all  :)  My own blog has been sadly out of date since I've been busy writing, so this is a nice excuse to come back to the nail art world. I've missed you all!
This lovely little skittlette uses 4 colors:  Zoya: Shay, Spoiled: Steel the Show, Essence Colour & Go: Gorgeous Bling Bling, Wet n Wild Fast Dry: Teal or No Teal. This look was done for a friend's wedding where her colors were terracotta and turquoise.  :)
On my pinky is the terracotta Essence Colour & Go: Gorgeous Bling Bling. My pointer is Spoiled: Steel the Show, and my thumb is Wet n Wild Fast Dry: Teal or No Teal. On my middles, the base color is Zoya: Shay, with the other three colors water marbled over it.
I usually do the traditional bulls-eye method for water marbling, but this time I dropped the colors in separate corners of my bowl, then swirled them together. I was just playing around, trying something different, and I really like how it came out!
Thanks! Denise (Dizzy Little Digits - http://www.dizzylittledigits.com/)

---------------------------------------------------------------

I love how it came out too.  I love the effect on the marbling and the colors are great.  Thanks again Denise!  Have a great day everyone!

Guest Post from Adventures in Acetone

I'm really excited to have Jacki from Adventures in Acetone here today because, not only is she one of my favorite bloggers, she is someone I consider a close friend.  I've actually been using a lot of her Tutorial Tuesdays as inspiration for my manis lately.  I know this one's gonna be just as fun.

---------------------------------------------------

Hello PGR&R readers! I'm Jacki from Adventures In Acetone! I'm happy to be here and do a guest post for Danielle! It's starting to cool down a bit here in Florida and it seems that the summer really is coming to an end. This is a bright and fun mani as a "farewell" to summer for me! I know you can wear neons all year round, but they just feel more fun in the summer.

I've done 2 coats of Fever Lacquer I Shall Call You Squishy, a bright coral/pink jelly polish with subtle shimmer. I topped it with one coat of The Nail Junkie Unicorn, a shimmering clear based glitter topper with bright hexes in green, yellow, pink, blue and purple. They made a really fun pairing!
Aren't the bottles pretty next to each other?

What do you think of this combo? Sometimes the simple manis are the most fun! Thanks so much for having me, Danielle!

----------------------------------------------------------

This is such an adorable mani.  I Shall Call You Squishy is one of my ultimate favorite polishes and who can resist one called Unicorn or relating to unicorns?  lol I don't have it yet, but now I know I need it and soon.  Thanks Jacki for showing us such a fun mani.  (:

Guest Post from Pointless Cafe

Hey Everyone!  All of the guest bloggers have been doing great and I have quite a few more coming but first, let's check out what Sheila from Pointless Cafe has in store for you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free
I'm so excited to be guest-posting here today while Danielle is on vacation! I have a really pretty one to show you from one of my favorite brands...

a-England
She Walks in Beauty

She Walks in Beauty is from a-England's Heavenly Quotes collection and I haven't worn it before now because I just couldn't seem to pick the proper undies for it. It looks fabulous with lots of different bases, but I wanted you to be able to see THIS polish, not just a pretty combo. It's a clear base with loads of pale golden shimmer and gold and rose gold glitter pieces in various sizes. This one can be opaque on its own in 3 coats, but it's a tad thick for me to wear it alone, so the nude base worked out great. I layered 2 light coats over a plain nude creme and one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos. No issues with formula or application.

Artificial lighting...

Indirect natural lighting...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? Unlike most of you guys, I'm not a huge glitter lover but this one is so girly and pretty. And you can't go wrong with a-England!

I got this one from Overall Beauty. Great customer service and super fast shipping.

A-England polishes are available on their website if you're in the UK. For those of us elsewhere, we can order through Overall Beauty, Ninja PolishMeiMei's Signatures and Llarowe. And of course, you can always stay up to date on their latest release by following a-England on Facebook and Twitter!  Also follow Ninja Polish on FacebookOverall Beauty on FacebookLlarowe on Facebook, and MeiMei's Signatures on Facebook for more updates, availability and re-stock information.

Thanks to Danielle for having me! When you have a little free time, come on over and check me out at Pointless Cafe!

Guest Post from The Ides of Polish

Hey Everyone!  Today's guest blogger is Kim from The Ides of Polish and she's got an awesome polish to show you.  It's a brand I've never used before and after this I may have to get some.  Let's see!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello! I'm Kim from The Ides of Polish. I'm excited to guest post for Danielle because this is my first Halloween mani for 2013 and I love it!! This is two light coats of Sonoma Nail Art Sincerest Pumpkin Patch over Illamasqua Smash. I got this last year and never used it because I received it about a week before Halloween and then had other manicures in mind and I used two of the other ones I got from this Halloween collection. I'm not sure why I waited because it's AMAZING! I have to say, I absolutely love all the Sonoma polishes I have and I'm a little sad that she doesn't seem to be releasing new polishes/collections at the rate she was last year. Onto the polish!
Oooooo pumpkiny! This was pretty easy to apply although I did have to fish out some of the orange glitter to make it look more uniform with the number of pieces of glitter on each nail because I'm crazy. I really, really love this. I don't think it's over the top Halloween and can probably be used all year long. I can't wait to use the other polishes from this collection again!

Sonama Nail Art polishes can be purchased here and please like the Facebook page for updates and info on restocks and the new Halloween collection.

I really hope Danielle is having a great time on vacation!!!  ♥

-----------------------------------------------------------

Thank you so much Kim for showing us this amazing polish.  I'm so happy my blog could be home to your first Halloween mani this year.  I'm honored.  lol I hope you all enjoyed seeing it as much as me.  Have a good night!

Guest Post from The Mani Cafe

Today's guest post is going to be awesome.  Michaela from The Mani Cafe has used one of my favorite polish brands for her mani.  Let's see what she's got.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there everyone over here at Polish. Glitter. Rock & Roll! I'm Michaela from The Mani CafĂ© and I'm so happy to be guest posting for Danielle over here today while she is away. I've been a follower of Danielle's blog for a good while now and love her swatches and nail art!

Today I have a really simple but pretty manicure for you using Orly Miss Conduct. I love Orly polishes and the quality is always good in my experience but Miss Conduct is simply exceptional. It's a gorgeous magenta scattered holographic which is almost a one-coater!
Orly Miss Conduct and stamping
I used two coats of Miss Conduct for complete opacity on my long nails but shorter nails could possibly get away with just one! This is a stunning polish in the shade and in direct light and it simply glows.
Orly Miss Conduct and stamping
To add some nail art but not cover up the base colour too much, I chose to do a simple stamped accent nail using a bird image from a stamping plate I won a while back in a giveaway (it's marked ML S301 but other than that I don't know anything about it really, sorry about that!). To stamp the image, I used Barry M Foil Effects in Silver (319).

I loved this simple manicure and can't get enough of polishes like Miss Conduct. What do you think of scattered holographics?

Thank you to Danielle for having me today and I hope you'll come and visit me over at my blog The Mani Café or my Facebook page here

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OMG this is such a beautiful color and she has the greatest looking nails too.  Thanks for posting this amazing mani, Michaela, and I hope you all enjoyed it too.  (:

Guest Post from Ashley is PolishAddicted

Hey Everyone!  Welcome to day 1 of some amazing guest posts to come.  As of right now I'm probably still on a plane to Pittsburgh and once I land, I'll have six days of fun and relaxation which means no blogging.  ):  But it's okay because Ashley from Ashley is PolishAddicted is here to show you something super fun and totally "me".

------------------------------------------------------------

Hi there! I'm Ashley from Ashley is PolishAddicted and I am very happy to be filling in for Danielle today!

I wanted to do something somewhat Halloween-themed but I really wanted to use Zoya Carter because I know Danielle loves that polish a ton. So, I decided to do a black, orange and purple gradient using all Zoya PixieDusts - Dahlia, Dhara and Carter.
I love doing gradients with textured polishes because it is so easy! I reversed the gradient on my accent nails to give it a little bit more visual interest.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I hope to see you again soon!

Thanks for reading and happy polishing! And thank you, Danielle, for having me!  ♥

---------------------------------------------------------------

Oh she hit the nail on the head with that one.  I LOVE textured polish, especially Carter.  I need to wear that again.  Thanks Ashley for creating such a fun mani for my readers and starting us off right!  ♥

Guest Post for Nail Polish Creations/Life In Color

Hey Everyone!

I think my small blogging hiatus is over.  I still don't feel completely motivated, but I really want to get back into it and polish my poor naked nubbins.  They have been bare since my last post.  I'm not sure what's keeping me from wanting to paint my nails, but I haven't bought any new polish in quite a while.  I don't want to keep adding to a collection that I'm not even using at the moment.  I have a few new manis planned out in my head that I definitely want to try.  I'm also waiting on a small shipment of goodies to come in so that I can create some new looks from there as well.  Stick with me.

For my first mani back, I actually created an ombre/holo gradient for someone else.  hahaha!  So head on over to Nail Polish Creations and see my guest post.  I'll give you a peek.

I also did a fun corset mani on May 13th (that I completely forgot to post about) for Gosia of Life In Color!

See ya! (:
