China Glaze Cast a Spell

Since it's October and we are getting so close to Halloween I thought it was the perfect time to start breaking out all of my Halloween inspired polishes starting with this one.  I bought this on clearance at Sally's and haven't worn it until now...because I forgot I had it.  lol  I was looking at my stash list to see what I hadn't swatched and this was on there.  

I don't know how I forgot about this polish and managed to tuck it away for so long because I love it.  First of all this is one coat...yep!  I'm sure some people had to use two coats but if you load up your brush perfectly and are super careful, it can totally be a one-coater.  The base is a deep olive green with brighter green shimmer.  That's about all I have to say on it except that I love it one more time.  It didn't have any formula issues and it's good that I can wear it year-round if I want.  It's not too season specific.  Stay tuned for more Halloween/Fall polishes because I have enough, trust me.  lol

OPI Stranger Tides

Good Evening Lovelies!

I hate to tell you but my laptop is acting up again and it won't recognize my camera.  So all that means is that all the good manis will have to be shown later and all I have for you is a swatch.

This is Stranger Tides for the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean mini set.  I didn't think I wanted the full size of this and I guess I was right because I never wear it.  Looking at this now, I should wear it more though.  I love olive and khaki colors on nails.

For these swatches I used 3 coats because it was kind of streaky but it did level out.  I'm not sure if that was the actual formula or the brush.  I always have issues with application on the OPI mini bottles.

I wasn't really crazy about this entire collection except for this one, Skull and Glossbones, and Silver Crackle of course.  I know everyone is over them, but I'm addicted to crack...le!  LOL.

Color Club Magnetic Force Sci-Fi

I'm back again.  This week has already been pretty crazy and it's only Tuesday.  *sigh*  Then I realized this post has been sitting in my drafts folder waiting to be posted since August.  This is good though because I am totally unmotivated and too tired today to actually do my nails.

I am not a big fan of the magnetic trend and this is actually the only one I own.  I thought I would give it a try and see what all the fuss was about.

Sci-Fi is an olive green base with (what looks like) silver glass flecks.  Or are they magnetic flecks?  I have no idea actually.  Anyway, the magnet is a wave patter that turns the olive to a silvery color.  What I do like about this polish/trend is the color (love olive!) and how quickly the magnet works.  I think the standard time is 10 seconds or something, but I only need about 5 seconds to get the full effect.  What I don't like about the polish/trend is that unless I rock the magnet from side to side, I can't get the effect on my full nail.  In doing so, I dinged my wet mani quite a few times.  Then I had to take it off and start over.

Can you see that I didn't even bother to clean up my skin?  lol I'm so lazy.

Overall, I give this trend a 5 out of 10.  I could take it or leave it.  What are your favorite polish trends?  Did you jump on the magnetic bandwagon?

American Apparel Army Jacket

I just have a quick post today.  So let's get started.  I'm in a fairly green mood lately.  It's not like I don't have a ton of them.  (:  Coming up is a not so girly green.  This is one I also got in my swap with Sarah of See Sarah Swatch.

This is 2 coats of Army Jacket and it's so pretty.  I do wish it had a bit more brown in it, but it's not necessary.  I love neutral colors that aren't necessarily black, white or grey.  I think olive, navy and khaki are also neutral colors that you can pair any other color with.  I wanted to do some fun, bright colored stamping on this to make it more fashion forward, but no time.

I did get some bald spots with the Fireside Glow so if you do this combo, then use a base polish.

Sally Hansen Sequin Scandal

Just a quick post today my loves.

It is Sally Hansen's Sequin Scandal.  Probably my most favorite olive polish out of the ones I own.  It has the best brush, the best formula, and it's gorgeous.
