7 Days of Halloween - Day 5

I'm gonna be honest...I hate this mani.  lol Not because it's bad.  I actually like how it came out but because it's a clown...ugh!  Scary!  I tried to make a silly, nice clown rather than a scary one because they really freak me out, man.
I started with two coats of white and then added polka dots using Zoya Pippa - yellow,  China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada - green, Jesse's Girl Julie G Girl's Night Out - blue, and Essie Forever Yummy - red.  Then I freehanded the clown face which I actually had to do twice.  The first time it was so cute and the lines were perfect and then I applied a quick dry top coat, however the layers were too thick so it didn't dry quick enough and I knocked my nail which smudged it to where it's unrecognizable.  So when that was done I added a cute red bow on my middle finger to represent the clown's bow tie.  And done!

This is definitely a popular costume from when I was a kid.  Eventhough I hate clowns, I was a clown too.  (:

31DC2013 - Polka Dots

Hey everyone!  I MADE IT!  If you follow me on Facebook, you'll know why that's so exciting.  Basically I had an overloaded day and I didn't think I would be able to get this post up.  With that said, this will be extremely short wording.  You can just look at the photos and make your own judgement.  (:
My base color is two coats of Orly Oh Cabana Boy.  The purple dots are done with Color Club Lavendarling and then I added a few random glitter dots with Ulta Starstruck.  Yes I used it yesterday but I couldn't get enough.  I also feel like I wanna use it again somewhere in this challenge.
And that's about it.  I'm so sorry I have to post and run but I have a TV date with my boyfriend to watch Breaking Bad and I have to be up early for work so sleep is a must.  Have a wonderful night and come back tomorrow for my ultra cool striped nails!

Fun With a Pastel Gradient

I wasn't really sure what else to title this post since I have a few things going on with this mani, but it is super cute nonetheless.  Check it out!
Yeah so like I said, there is a lot going on here.  lol I wanted to do something fun and different (for me anyway) and I think is not like anything I've ever done.  I started with a white base to make the pastel colors stand out.  Then I started with the chevron nails.  I taped off the pattern using striping tape.  I could have bought some zig-zag craft scissors but that seems too easy.  I like a challenge.  (:  Then I used four different pastel cremes to gradient over the tape.  The lavender is Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth, the blue is Orly Snowcone, the yellow (which is kinda tough to see) is Sinful Colors Unicorn, and the pink is Sinful Colors Soul Mate.  I only needed two layers of sponging to get the colors almost opaque.
The I took the same colors and then Color Club Blue-ming to create gradient polka dots on my pinky and pointer fingers.  Then I topped it all off with my top coat which for some reason wanted to give me lots of bubbles today.  I really love this print and color combo but I just really hope it doesn't look like clown pants or something.  lol  I wanted it to be a little funky and a little whimsical but not ridiculous.
So how do you all feel about this mani?  You can tell me the truth if you think it looks like clown pants.  lol I asked the boyfriend if it looked like unicorn tears and he said, "No babe!  You know unicorns cry jelly beans."  OMG I laughed to hard.  I thought you all would enjoy that.  (:

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present The March Tri-Polish Challenge

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about the Tri-Polish Challenge today.  I guess I was thinking it was just on Thursday.  My mind has been all over the place today, but I whipped it together and created a super cute dotticure.
I just thought it would be cute to do polka dots in one color and then add a few random ones in different colors on my middle and pinky fingers.
I promise I'll get my act together for Thursday's mani, but until then you can check out everyone else's below!

Pinterest Week Day 5

So my recreation of this mani came out not quite the same, but I did my best.  Don't get me wrong.  It came out great, but it's a water marble so there was no way I could get it 100% right.  Check it out.

Day 5:  did my nails
MY PIN HERE
ORIGINAL POST HERE
Elizabeth of did my nails is part of the Twinsie group and as a theme for Twinsie Tuesday they did black and white manis.  I just loved her version of the water marble.
WHAT I USED:
Julep Meryl - grey
Sally Hansen White Tip - white
Nails Inc. noho - black
I haven't done a water marble in so long so I'm glad this one was super easy.  The Nails Inc. noho spread surprisingly well.  And it still came out leather-y.  It was cool.  Anyway when I dipped my fingers, I dipped them the wrong way so the flower design is on the wrong side.  Oh well.
This is Elizabeth's manicure.  Isn't it so cute?!  Glad I came across this one.  I also love that it's black and white.  It's very non-traditional for flowers.  Whatever.  I know this was a little late, but at least I finished it.  I was putting it off all day.  Not because I didn't want to do it, but because I kept getting distracted with Facebook and tv.  Oh and food!! (:

Pinterest Week Day 1

Welcome!  Welcome!  Welcome!

I'm sure you are all wondering what exactly Pinterest Week is.  Well I saw it on Kayla Shevonne's blog sometime last year (I think) and I thought it was a great idea.  The idea is to recreate manis that have been pinned on my Pinterest Beauty board.  I had so many which made it tough to narrow down to only 7, but I think you will really enjoy the one's I chose.

Day 1: My Nail Polish Online
The original manicure was created using the new OPI Mariah Carey Spring 2013 collection.  Then the blogger added some fun dots and glitter.
Since I don't have the OPI Mariah Carey collection, I used the closest polishes I had.

WHAT I USED:
pinky/pointer - Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier w/ Spoiled Jewelry Heist glitter
ring/thumb - Orly Rock the World w/ Finger Paints Amethyst Atelier dots
middle - OPI Sweet Memories w/ Orly Rock the World dots
I topped it all off with a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite and got some amazing photos.  I also added the original photo from My Nail Polish Online so you can see how my mani compares.
Let me know what you think?  Also if you have any requests of pins from my Beauty board, feel free to leave it in the comments below.  I don't have the whole week planned out yet so you've definitely got a chance to choose something awesome for me.

Crumpet's Sat-ART-day Club Presents Dotting Tools

Today we are creating a mani using dotting tools.  I love creating dotticures so I'm super excited this was one of the themes.  However I am not pleased with my mani.   It was much better in my head, but here it is anyway.  /:
WHAT I USED:
China Glaze White on White - white
Zoya Zuza - turquoise
BBCouture Dark Knight - black
Julep Meryl - grey

So that's it.  I thought the frame technique would be cool, but not so much.

Dotticure

Hello Everyone!

First off, I wanted to let you all know that I started my new job today, and I think it's gonna be a really great experience.  I had so much fun, and all we did was training stuff.  I can't wait to go back tomorrow!

Now on to the good stuff.  I was on Pinterest last night, and I stumbled across THIS lovely pin.  When I saw I squealed with excitement.  I don't know why I thought it was the greatest mani on earth, but I just absolutely loved it.  I immediately pulled out all my polish and went to town.  10 minutes later, this emerged.

I'm really happy with it.  I know I have some mishaps like crooked lines and that damn drip on my pinky, but I really do love it.  I think those details give it character.  lol.  I changed up the colors because I've been in a very purple-y mood lately.  My last swatch was purple, my toes are purple, and now my dotticure is purple.  If only work would let me have purple hair.

WHAT I USED:
Sally Hansen White Tip - 2 coats for base
NYC Lincoln Square Lavender
China Glaze SeƱorita Bonita
Zoya Dannii
Zoya Julieanne

I am def going to recreate this very soon with maybe a different base color or just a different color story all together, so make sure you all check back.
