OPI I Love DKMS...Let's Save Some Lives People!

OPI's Helping Hand

"This fall, OPI partners with non-profit DKMS, making getting a manicure more important that ever.  The nail polish brand has created a duo of lacquers named I Love DKMS that aid in DKMS's fight against leukemia.  OPI will donate $20,000 of proceeds from the two colors (a crimson red and a shimmer white) which will contribute to promoting their efforts.  And if you want to get even more involved, becoming a potential bone marrow donor is as easy as requesting a free pre-postaged swab kit on the DKMS website (the most qualified donors are usually between the ages of 18 and 27).  Visit getswabbed.org to learn how to save a life in the same amount of time it takes your nails to dry."

Now I'm not crazy about red polishes but for the cause I will definitely pick up both colors.  Will you?

popBeauty Turquoise

Hey all!

It feels like it's been forever since I've posted anything, but the past couple of weeks have been hectic.  Now I finally have a minute to show you an amazing color that I picked up last week.  It is so creatively named "turquoise" by popBeauty which you can find at their website, apparently at CVS (huh?), or you can be like me and pick up some bottles at Ulta for $10 a pop...lol!  Get it?  A pop!  Anyway...

[DISCLAIMER: excuse my messy and injured cuticles and fingers.]
This is three coats in direct sunlight.
A nice little shady pic.
I love how it came out exactly the way it looks in the bottle.
This is on my left hand to show you what two coats looks like.
So my first impression of pop polish?...I couldn't wait to get my hands on a bottle.  The finish of this color is similar to the Orly Plastix collection but with a little bit of jelly.  I am so happy that I bought it and three others.

So tell me?  Have you purchased any pop polishes?  If so, what's your opinion?

Shatter Over Splatter

So just a quick post cuz I have to be at work in 45 minutes.  In participation with OPI's Facebook event: Day of Shatter!, I came up with a really fun mani.  OPI Silver Shatter over a lime and blue splatter.  Check it out!

So the pics are terrible, but like I said, I'm just trying to get ready for work.  Ugh!

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors - Innocent
Love & Beauty - Blue
OPI Silver Shatter

Please leave comments and let me know what you think!

Splatter Paint and My Latest Haul

Hello All!

This post is probably going to be really short because my BF is coming to pick me up for dinner and I don't have a lot of time.  So anyway, he just got back from out of town, and while he was gone I went shopping to make myself feel better and to not be so lonely.  Here is what I picked up:
First of all, excuse the mess and the background.  lol.  Anyway, I went to Ulta and found some great deals.  From L to R is Essence What  Do U Think?, Ulta Pro Green With Envy, Sally Hansen Sequin Scandal, and then a great butterLONDON gift set with Powder Room scented polish remover (smells like baby powder...terrible) and No More Waity, Katie.

After all these great items I got, I came home and used none of them.  I decided to save them for a special day and do a splatter paint manicure instead.  I've been seeing them a lot lately and they all look amazing, so I thought I'd try my hand at it.  Here is what was created:

WHAT I USED:
Nail Life base coat
Hard Candy Beetle - 2 coats
1st layer splatter - Orly Snowcone
2nd layer splatter - CG Liquid Leather
SV top coat

I was really pleased with myself and all my friends want me to do them too.  We'll see.  I loved how the cream colors complimented the Hard Candy duo-chrome and toned it down a little.  Thanks to whoever created the splatter paint mani.  I love it!

It looks like this post wasn't so short after all.  Have a great Thursday!

Twitter!

Ok so no mani today, but tomorrow I will put one up and a pretty darn great one just to point out.  This is just a quick post to let my very few followers and any future followers know that I have jumped on the Twitter bandwagon.  I don't really understand it, but I'm working on it.  Have a good night everyone.
