Color Club Blossoming Collection

Happy Easter!  I hope you all had a great day.  I wish I had a reason to do Easter egg decorating and hunts, but I don't.  I don't have kids or younger siblings and my 7 year old niece lives far away.  ): Anyway, whatever you did today, I hope it was enjoyable.

I wanted to do some nail art today but I am so exhausted from waking up at 5 am that I just decided to show you one of my fave collections - Color Club Blossoming.  I have been using these polishes so much lately so just to get it out of my system I'll just show you all of them together.  This is from last Spring by the way...don't judge. (:
From L to R: Lavendarling, Sweet Pea, Hydrangea Kiss, Blue-ming, Blushing Rose, Diamond Drops
First up is Lavendarling.  This is one of my favorite shades of purple and this particular one is flawless.  I used 3 coats and it's self leveling.  It reminds me a lot of a china glaze color that I'm not sure of what the name is...Grape Fizz?  Grape Pop?  Maybe Gothic Lolita?
Sweet Pea is my least favorite of the collection but not for the formula or application.  This rosy, purple-y color is just not one of my favorites.  It's not that it looks bad, it's just blah to me.  This is 2 coats.
Now that I showed you my least favorite, I can show you my absolute favorite of the collection.  This is 3 coats of Hydrangea Kiss and I love it.  It's a dusty periwinkle blue (I couldn't get the color dead on) and I wear this one more often than all the others.
Ok so this one bugs me a bit.  It's called Blue-ming but it clearly leans more minty and on the green side.  If it leaned more blue and looked a bit like Tiffany's signature color, then I'd be happier with it.  Everytime someone asks me the name of it, I feel like I'm deceiving them.  lol Is that weird?  Anyway this is 3 coats.  This was the only one that was a little patchy and needed more "care".
Here we have Blushing Rose - a soft powder pink creme.  The formula on this one was a little thinner then the others but builds up easily.  This is 3 coats.  I'm not a pink girl but I like this one a lot.
And finally the "odd-ball" of the collection - Diamond Drops.  It is a clear base packed with silver holo shredded glitter.  It takes a little fishing to get the bigger chunks out but they brush on easily and lay nicely on the nail.  I used 2 coats for these swatches and I only had to place a few of the chunks.
So I called this one an odd-ball because I feel like this collection is so soft and pretty with the pastel shades and delicate, floral names, and then here comes this harsh shredded glitter to top it off.  Yes they work well together, but I don't think it should have been a part of this collection.  Maybe it should have been a pretty colored micro-glitter or a multi-colored bar glittter.  idk Those are just my thoughts.  I still would have bought Diamond Drops and probably worn them together anyway.

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present The March Tri-Polish Challenge

Well this is the last day of the Tri-Polish Challenge for the month.  Next month will start a new trio of colors, but first...
This was not one of my favorite polish combos until now.  I love how this cloud mani came out.  I know it's very simple, but the order I put them in makes me happy.
Sorry for my nasty cuticles, but my hands are very dry lately.  The weather took a drastic turn from warm Spring temperatures to cold and maybe rainy (dark clouds are outside right now).

Color Club Fly With Me

Happy Wednesday!  It's already been such a long week but we are half way through.  I can't wait for Friday to get here but until then I have a pretty green polish to cheer me up.  You know the color green has that affect on people.
This is 3 coats of Color Club Fly With Me.  It's a bright green packed with lots of shimmer and it's amaaazzzing!!  I have been really into Color Club polish lately (so count on seeing more of them in the coming weeks) and this is definitely one of my favorites.
Have a good night!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present The March Tri-Polish Challenge

Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about the Tri-Polish Challenge today.  I guess I was thinking it was just on Thursday.  My mind has been all over the place today, but I whipped it together and created a super cute dotticure.
I just thought it would be cute to do polka dots in one color and then add a few random ones in different colors on my middle and pinky fingers.
I promise I'll get my act together for Thursday's mani, but until then you can check out everyone else's below!

My Glitter Franken

Hello Lovelies!!

I am in no way a polish maker, but sometimes it's fun to throw some things together and create a super fun glitter bomb.  Every single glitter I own is sampled in this bottle so I hope you enjoy it.
I really wish that I could have fished out the larger shaped glitter, but it was difficult.  This is only 2 coats on top of a Color Club Lavendarling.
Some of the polishes I used were:
Color Club Diamond Drops
FEVERlacquer I Blame the Fireworks
L.A. Colors Sparkling Diamond
Love & Beauty Euphoria
Nicole by OPI Step 2 the Beat of My ♥
NYX Girls Under the Moon and Dreamy Glitter
and more...

I think that is just half of them.  lol I do really love my pretty purple concoction and it looks amazing of grey polish.  I'll have to add photo updates to this post everytime I wear it.
Good night!!

Bottle Spam - Random Picks

I don't know about all of you, my lovely readers, but I enjoy seeing bottle spam from other bloggers.  I also think it's a nice "filler" post for my lazy or busy days.  I mean, I'm just being honest here.  lol  I didn't know what kind of spam to do so I asked my wonderful man to randomly choose for me.

I have a Melmer like most of you so I had him choose 4 polishes from each drawer and then 4 from my desk.  He was very happy with his choices and so was I.
TOP DRAWER
Sinful Colors Cinderella, Love & Beauty Gold Plated, Love & Beauty teal, Love & Beauty Multi Glitter
I didn't like that he chose so many Love & Beauty polishes since they don't have real names, but they are pretty polishes anyway.  I am thinking of finding dupes for these and just getting rid of them.  Maybe when Zoya's Earth Day promo comes around...hmmm?!
MIDDLE DRAWER
popBeauty Ablaze, Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice, FEVERlacquer White Collar Caffrey, Blackheart Multi Glitter
I just realized that I have two "Multi Glitter" polishes.  That is weird.
BOTTOM DRAWER
OPI Stay the Night, China Glaze In the Lime Light, Zoya Mitzi, Zoya Dahlia
Oooh he did good!  He chose 4 of my favorite polishes with my favorite qualities: textures, greens, mattes, and neons.
DESKTOP
Sation Class Clown, OPI Lights of Emerald City, Sinful Colors I Miss You, and Julep Joy
I just ordered Joy as an add-on and it is by far one of my new favorite polishes.  I know a lot of people think mauve is an "old lady" color so I guess I'm an old lady because I absolutely love it.  You may see it soon.

This was fun!  I really enjoyed looking at my own bottle spam.  lol  I think I may continue these spam posts, but not on a regular basis.  I don't think my collection is big enough yet...YET!

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present The March Tri-Polish Challenge

Today is day 2 of the Tri-Polish Challenge.  If you didn't see the first post on Tuesday, the colors for the month are green, purple, and coral.  The ones I chose are China Glaze Creative Fanstasy, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, and Zoya Ivanka.
I really thought this would come out differently than it did, but it's not bad.  I kinda like it.  I wanted it to just be random vertical stripes, but then the brush on China Glaze Creative Fantasy was a little fat at the end so then it really just made blobs.  So I layered on the blobs of purple and let that dry.
Then over the purple I layered on Ivanka in the same way.  And that's really all there was to it.  The tips don't look that great because I wore this for two days and they got chipped and worn at work.  I tried to touch them up for these photos.  lol

Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present The March Tri-Polish Challenge

Welcome to the very first day ever of the monthly Tri-Polish Challenge created by The Crumpet and Smashley Sparkles.
Basically the rules are each month 3 colors are chosen by the hosts, and it is up to you to create 4 different manis using those 3 exact colors.  I chose Zoya Ivanka for green, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy for coral, and China Glaze Creative Fantasy for purple.
I've wanted to recreate Sarah's (of Chalkboard Nails) tropical floral mani for awhile (which you can see HERE) but just never got around to it so when The Crumpet announced the colors for the Tri-Polish Challenge would be green, purple, and coral, I knew it was time.  It was fate!
I thought doing a tropical themed mani would be a nice change of pace for everyone since the weather is pretty crappy everywhere right now.  Right?  I don't even really like Spring and Summer but this mani makes me look forward to warmer temperatures, but just a bit.
I really hope I did Sarah's mani justice.  My nails aren't as long as hers so I could only fit one flower per nail except my thumb which is a fatty.  lol And my flowers look a bit like 3 way bow tie pasta, but hey.  I tried and I'm loving how it turned out.  I also love the color combo so I'm glad I get to do 3 more manis with these.

Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth and Unicorn

Good Evening!

I thought tonight's post would be fun if I showed you my two picks from the Sugar Rush display that was up at Walgreens.  One is new - Sweet Tooth, and one is old - Unicorn.
First up is Sweet Tooth.  This is one of my favorites of the collection because it looks like a basic creme lavender polish but it actually has a lot of shimmer packed in it.  If you enlarge the photos you should be able to see it clearly...I hope.  (:
For this swatch I used 2 coats.  The formula was wonderful and wasn't patchy at all which is what I notice with most cremes I own.  They are just not my favorite type of polish.
This is 3 coats of Unicorn.  This is actually an older bottle and I noticed that the newer bottles placed on the display were a bit lighter.  I liked the shade of the older bottle.  The formula was a bit runny and thick at the same time (it was weird) and patchy on the first coat but it evened out with more coats.
Both of these polishes dried super glossy.  These photos had no top coat.  I really love both of these polishes and for $1.99 each, it can't get any better.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Yeah for St. Patrick's Day and so many green manis!  I won't keep you long.  I'm sure you all are super busy having fun!  I wasn't sure what to do today, but I thought a water marble was long overdue.
Soooo it's okay I guess.  It was better before I added the dots, but it's still cute, right?
WHAT I USED:
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (very fitting) - green
Ulta High Roller - gold
BBCouture Dark Knight - black
Enjoy your day and be safe!

Julep Lucky

Hello My Lovelies!!

It's Saturday and the day before St. Patrick's Day so I hope you all go out and drink green beer (if you're old enough) and enjoy this super fun holiday weekend.  Will I be going out and drinking green beer?  No.  We don't ever go out and do anything but the bf is Irish so we will definitely be doing the corn hash and cabbage tomorrow.  Meanwhile I will be showing you a pretty glitter I just got.
This is Julep Lucky.  A super green multi sized glitter bomb with "gold coins" all throughout.  This was one that I actually bought as an add-on with my Julep Jules because I just had to have it.  The shade of green is gorgeous and I love the hints of gold.  I used 2 coats for this swatch.  Yeah...2!  I told you it was a glitter bomb.  The formula was a bit on the thick side but nothing that a drop or 2 of thinner can't fix, and it applied very easily.
Have a happy and SAFE holiday.  Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
