Color Club Wicked Sweet Minis

Hello Everyone!

I'm alive!  I'm sure you would have never guessed.  lol I am still in the process of moving to my new place so posting is not high on my list of priorities.  That's sad.  Anyway, I have a fun mini collection for you today.  It's the Summer 2011 Color Club Wicked Sweet Collection AND they are scented!  I know a lot of people who aren't crazy about scented polish, but I love it.  I love scented everything actually.  Scratch 'n' Sniffs are the best!

Again these are only minis so there are only 4 however, I don't think I would have worn the others anyway (except for that orange).
This is the full collection...
...and these are mine!

First up is Get Your Lem-on.  It is a slight sheer neon yellow base with amazing blue micro shimmer.  I had to use three coats over my natural nail.  Over white I'm sure I could have got away with one or two thin coats.  This one smells like lemons (obviously) but more like lemon scented cleaner and not so much the fruit.  The color is definitely better than the scent.
Here we have Yum Gum which is my ultimate favorite of the whole collection.  Not just the minis, but ALL of them.  I love how shocking of a neon pink it is, but I just wish it were as bright in photos as it is in real life.  You would freak over how blinding it is.  I actually don't own a pink neon in this shade.  It is a creme that was a little thick but very easy to apply and was self-leveling.  I only needed two coats.  The smell of this would be like heaven for a kid.  It smells like straight up Bubble Yum!  I love Bubble Yum!

I know I had no say over this one coming in the package, but I'm still disappointed in myself for even owning it.  If you come her often you may have seen me post about how I own several, and way too many, of this color.  I don't even really like this color, but what are ya gonna do?  It was out of my control.  It is called Gimme a Grape Big Kiss and it's SUPPOSED to smell like grape, but I have yet to experience that.  It still smells like nail polish.  Even the swatch on the nail wheel does.  So anyway, this is a neon fuschia creme and I used three coats.  The formula was a little thicker than I would have liked but not unmanageable.
Lastly is the collections name sake, Wicked Sweet.  I love this one a lot too.  It is the same color as an LA Colors mini polish I had once and I used it all up.  I never really tried to look for another one, but I'm glad I happened to find this one.  I don't want to say it again so I'll just say the color is the blue twin of Get Your Lem-on, blue shimmer and all.  The formula on this one was much better than the LA Colors polish and I only needed two coats.  This one also has another heavenly smell, in my opinion, because it's like candy.  It smells like blue raspberry!  mmm!

So eventhough this is a Summer collection from last year, it's still one of the best I think.  What do you all think?

October/Halloween Challenge

Any takers?!  I guess you want to know what it is first, huh?  Well since October is my birthday month, I want to celebrate all month long by doing a super simple challenge.
I hope the color of the type isn't too hard to see, but that damn orange pumpkin made it difficult to choose a color.  lol.  Anyway, I would love for everyone to participate and just have fun with it.  Obviously it's once a week (Wednesdays) and, like I said, super simple.  I just didn't want to stress everyone out, especially those that actually completed the 30 Day Challenge...unlike myself.

So yeah, you can either comment me or email me and let me know you are in.  I will even accept a Facebook message.  Who knows, there maybe something special for all the participants on the last day.

30 Day Challenge - Tribal and Glitter

So I missed a day. But in all fairness, I had taken a sleeping pill and was in no condition to be painting nails. I had to be at work at 4am so that meant waking up at 2am. I hope you will forgive me, especially since I'm giving you two manis in one post. Let's get started.
So yesterday's post should have been tribal nails so here they are.  This is my first time ever doing tribal designs and they're okay.  I like them, don't get me wrong.  I just know they aren't the best.  My untried in this mani was Zoya Stacey and the LA Girl Art Deco white.  It sucks by the way.  Actually I think any striping polish brushes suck.  They all seem to have that one tiny fiber that's longer than the rest.  I hate it. (:
Now for today's mani, the theme is glitter so I chose one of the few I haven't tried.  I took another sleeping pill so this was all I could muster.  It is Revlon Facets of Fuschia.  I did manage to get 3 coats on without any mishaps.  Oh and I'm using my first ever glue base.  It is weird that I can't wait to take the mani off?  lol I love when my polish comes off in sheets.
So I'm sorry again for missing yesterday, but at least I made it up to you all.  I'm just sad that I can't put my tribal nails on the Inlinkz. ):
Oh well, have a great night!  I'm gonna go pass out now.

30 Day Challenge - Delicate Print

Welcome to day 15 of the 30 Day Challenge using untrieds.  I can't believe we are half way through this thing, and you all might be disappointed in my post today.

I am SUPER tired and have been out all day looking for an apartment.  Therefore I decided to kind of cheat this challenge and pull one from the vault.  There once was a girl named Lindsey who ran a blog called Neverland Nail Blog (well I mean, she never left; she still runs it), and she created her own challenge called the Girly Girl Challenge.  I participated and completed it (go me!) and for it had posted a "delicate print" HERE.  I will show you that NOW!

Alright now don't be mad at me for this.  The main reason I wanted to share this mani again is because I couldn't think of anything better than this.  This is one of my favorite manis I've ever done.  Besides I have some new followers that may not have ever seen it.

Enjoy these flashback fingers and don't give me any crap about it. ;)

30 Day Challenge - Flowers

This one is gonna be really quick because I'm going to an Astros game in a few minutes so you can make your own review on it.

My untrieds were Zoya Zara as the base color (not the bottle) and Zoya Song for the blue dots.
Enjoy!

30 Day Challenge - Animal Print

Welcome to day 13 of the 30 Day Challenge!

I am really proud of myself for making it this far.  Especially since I haven't had a chance to pre-manicure.  Everyday's challenge is the day I do the design.  It's exhausting.  lol.  Anyway, I have had this one planned out since day 1 and I'm happy it's finally here.
My animal print is peacock feathers.  I got this design from a Kayla Shevonne tutorial that you can see HERE.  Mine obviously don't look as good as hers, but I am super happy about them.
I used a lot of different polishes here, but the only untried one was Zoya Ivanka.  Can you find it in there?  lol Well it's there.  So what do you all think?

30 Day Challenge - Stripes

Well if this wasn't the most difficult post to get up, then I don't know what is.  It wasn't a difficult mani, just Blogger wanted to fuck with me for an hour now and not let me even type up the post.  Anyway...

I have been waiting for stripes day because I had this one planned out for months.  Obviously it was on my to do list.
I am in love with this mani even though there are a few mishaps.  My untrieds I used are the base color, NYC Park Ave, and Orly Rock the World, which is the stripe in the center.  I also used Orly Rococo A Go Go and OPI Warm and Fozzie.
I also wanted to give a shout out to my inspiration for this mani, Lucy of Lucy's Stash.  She created a diagonally striped SpaRitual manicure HERE.

Enjoy this lovely mani and have a great night.

30 Day Challenge - Polka Dots

Hey Everyone.

Today is day 11 of the 30 Day Challenge.

If you saw my gradient post from yesterday, I apologize for it being crappy, but I'm gonna make it up to you today with my polka dots.  This is not how I envisioned it, but it's cute.

I have never been one to wear pink and black, and I gotta say.  I don't like it.  I will honestly never wear this combo again, but Zoya Kimber is a winner.  That is one of the untrieds in this mani.  The other is BeYu 386 which is the charcoal dots in the middle.

Have a great night!

30 Day Challenge - Gradient Nails

So first of all, this is way later than I usually post, but I just got back from dinner with my sister AND still had to make a gradient happen.

Second of all, this challenge is supposed to be fun, and today's post was no fun.  I'm usually good at gradients (at least I think I am), but I just couldn't get it right today.  Oh and let me show you the brush on one of my untrieds I was using.
I know it's not the best photo, but do you see that think sticking down from the brush?  IT'S A STAPLE!  Yes!  A staple.  In my polish brush.  WTF, Julep?!  Luckily, a few months back they sent me courtesy replacement brushes.  I was gonna throw them away, but I'm glad I didn't.
So this is my gradient and it's sloppy.  I'm not sure if it was the polish or the fact that I'm drinking while manicuring.  Idk, but I don't like it.  I love the idea just not the execution.  Both polishes were untrieds.  The beige color is Julep Sophie and the deep grey is Julep Brandt.  I will definitely be attempting this combo again in the future, but until then, good night.

30 Day Challenge - Rainbow Nails

Well hello there!  Today is day...ummm 9, right?

Yeah day 9 of the 30 Day Challenge is today and it's rainbow nails.  Who doesn't love rainbow nails?
I love MY rainbow nails for sure!  I had so many ideas of what to do that my brain was about to explode.  I just settled on dots though, and I'm glad I did.
I just used a white base coat and then these...
WHAT I USED:
Zoya Kimber - pink (untried)
WnW 9021-Orange - orange
China Glaze Lighthouse - yellow
Zoya Zuza - teal
Zoya Song - blue (untried)
Zoya Dannii - purple
I also added a rhinestone to each nail for fun.  I'm not sure they are easily seen in the photos though.  You'll have to enlarge them and let me know.
I really don't want to take this off to do gradient nails.  It's just so fun.

30 Day Challenge - Metallic

I bet you all think you are about to see a gold or silver polish right?

Wrong!  Check out my beauty Mermaid to Order from Sephora by OPI.

I know this is a lot of photos, but I can't stop looking at it and neither should you.  It was so hard just to choose these 5 out of the 20+ that I took.  This was my first time wearing it on the full nail and not in nail art and I am so pleased with it.

I think this was 3 coats and the application was like butter!  This polish is like a dream come true in a bottle.  For me at least.  I also love that it's so blinding if you stare for too long.  It kinda hurts my eyes...in a good way? /:
You all have to go get this for yourselves too.  Just sayin'.

30 Day Challenge - Black and White

Welcome to Oreo day!  Ya know black and white day?  LOL!

As much as I wish I had Cover Band's Sticks n Stones, I kinda love this more.  I used my Love&Beauty (or should I say LA Girl?) polish Uninhibited.  Of course it only says "black glitter" on the tag so I had to look it up.
I still can't believe this is an untried because when I worked at F21 and this was sent to stores, I was the first to freak out over it.  Then I bought it and never used it.  What?  Idk!
And just for fun, I couldn't leave it like that.  I wanted to try my cheapy silver glitter too.  This is LA Colors Sparkling Diamond and it was $1 from Dollar Tree.  I think this brand is so good for being so cheap.

♥ this together!
I am not crazy about black and white as a color combo, but since it's only one day, what the hell?  Now I can't wait to get this awesome glitter combo onto a color that actually matters.

30 Day Challenge - Violet

Day 6...WOO HOO!

Amethyst Atelier was my first Finger Paints polish, and I used to love it.  Now not so much.
I could have chosen a different "violet" for the challenge, but this IS an untried and that's part of it.  I used 2 coats and it is self-leveling if you all are wondering.  The application was pretty flawless though.  The first coat is patchy and weird, but just keep going.

I can't wait to see the other violet/purple manis, cuz this one is blah!

30 Day Challenge - Blue

I'm already so proud of myself for keeping up.  I know we are only 5 days in, but if you read my blog often you know I'm terrible at staying on track.

Today is blue nails and I was comtemplating whether to show you Zoya Cynthia or Orly Snowcone.  I chose Orly Snowcone because it's a super old polish that I think I may have used once for a mani, but never actually worn.
I am not crazy about baby blue anything or even creme polish, but I saw this in the store over a year ago and just had to have it.  Now I feel like I need the whole collection.
This is 2 coats, but I'm not sure I even needed the second one.  It covered pretty well with just one.
Today's challenge is complete and believe it or not, I already have tomorrow's post ready.  See you then.

30 Day Challenge - Green

Yea for green!  This will always be my favorite color so I'm happy I get to share this particular one with you all.

Sinful Colors Show Me the Way is one of my fave types of greens...LIME!  It also has a lot of shimmer and little bit of glitter.  Am I right in saying it's a metallic polish as well?

I'm kind of wondering if I have some older version of it because the other swatches I've seen are much closer to a true green and less of a lime green.  Idk but I love this one for sure.  It was given to my by a friend and even the label looks old.
I already used half the bottle so I guess you could say this is just an unswatched and not so much an untried, but whatever.  At least you all have never seen it on me before, and IMO that's what counts. (:
Have a lovely day and don't forget to check out the other green manis below.

30 Day Challenge - Yellow

Alright so I did NOT have an untried yellow so I thought I might just use one I already tried and put some nail art on it.

But instead I went and bought a new one.  I think that defeats the purpose of the "untried" challenge, but it's still untried.  I mean, I didn't even open it in the store to test it out.

This is my brand new, untried yellow polish.  I actually didn't have any neon yellow or Spoiled polish I guess I killed two birds with one stone.  The name is Did I Dye It Too Blonde? and I layered 2 coats over 1 coat of white.  Then I stuck my ring finger to my pinky finger and made a bald spot.  Yea!

Are you blind yet?

30 Day Challenge - Orange

Hello there!

It's Day 2 of the challenge and thankfully I had this one in the stockpile waiting to be posted.

This is Sinful Colors Serena and Chloe.
Is this really orange?  I guess it's more of red-orange, but whatever.  Oh ya know why it looks that color?  I layered it over Jesse's Girl Party Dress from the Julie G Collection, which is a tomato red color.

Anyway Serena and Chloe is an orange jelly base with orange glass flecks.  I bought it awhile ago thinking I was going to give it away in a swap and then I ended up loving it.  I just couldn't part with it.

Happy Sunday and I'll see you tomorrow!
