NAIL MAIL! and Zoya Zuza

So I worked what felt like the longest day in history yesterday.  I was so exhausted and just wanted to come home and take a bath.  However, I walked in the door and found a little package waiting for me in my bedroom.  I got my Zoya polish from the Earth Day Exchange!  Needless to say, there was no bath.  Just swatching.

I was only able to order 6, so I think I chose wisely.  And don't you love my blanket? (:
From L to R: Avery, Pippa, Soho Punch, Charisma, Zuza, Cynthia

I've been wanting all of these for the longest, but could never commit when it came time actually buy them.  I swatched them all and the first one I want to show is Zuza!
Now I knew this color was beautiful, but jeez!  IRL it's incredible.  The metallic foil finish is just amazing.  My brain is gonna explode from all the awesomeness.  I only needed 1 coat, but I did 2 for photo's sake.  It dried extremely fast and had the smoothest application in the world.  I love the finish of it but of course I had to mattify it.
I like the way this looks, but I don't love it.  It really took a lot of the fab away.  Eh.

I am going to get the rest of my posts ready and then stare at my nails some more.  Have a wonderful Sunday you guys!!

Sinful Colors Cinderella

I don't have much to say about this beauty that you haven't already read so I'll just show the photos.  I have to get up super early for work anyway.  There is some super lame Justin Bieber event.  Like I said, LAME!

Nighty night!

Water Marble Wednesday is on Fire

Literally!  Ashley of Smashley Sparkles and I agreed on a fire marble this week so I hope you checked hers out because mine is a total fail.

I'm not sure why it doesn't look like fire on the nail.  It looked super fiery in the water and I dipped in the best parts and then I got this.  The only one I like is my thumb nail even though it has a small vagina on it.  LOL.  Sorry but it does.

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Firefly - one base coat
WnW Black Creme - black
OPI Big Apple Red - red/CG Ruby Pumps for my thumb
WnW 9021-Orange - orange
CG Lighthouse - yellow

What do you guys think?  Have you tried the fire pattern?

China Glaze Atlantis

I am so exhausted from work you guys.  I don't even have time to do my nails anymore because I sit in traffic for almost 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.  So to occupy my time in the car, I cranked up the radio and busted out the polish.  That's right!  I painted my nails in 7am traffic.
I know!  I know!  It's dangerous to even talk on the phone and drive, and here I am painting my friggin' nails.  We were sitting still most of the time anyway.  Whatever!  I do what I want!  lol.  But yeah, since I did this in the car, it is pretty sloppy.  China Glaze Atlantis is a holographic glitter polish in a turquoise jelly base.  I do have a fake Atlantis that I will hopefully be swatching soon.  I really wanted to layer this over a creme, but I didn't have time to dig one out.

So don't be like me and be safe when you drive.

Zoya Ibiza

I have to show you this really quickly because my Diablo III beta just finished downloading, and I have to play it for the rest of the day.  I don't want to miss it.
Isn't she a beaut?!  Is that how they say it?  lol!  So anyway, this is Ibiza, a deep, shimmery blue.  I used 2 coats and it was flawless.  I haven't had a blue like this since I was a pre-teen.  No joke.  I don't remember the brand, but I do remember wearing this exact color almost my whole 5th grade year.  This is one of those "almost black" polishes and you know I love those.

Well, it's Diablo III time so I'm out of here.  Yes, this is what's tearing me away at the moment.  Can you blame me?
And check in tomorrow for a gorgeous layering session with Ibiza.  It wasn't tough or anything, but man!  It looks awesome.  At least to me it does.

Nicole by OPI Too Rich For You with L.A.Colors Treasure Island

This is such a late post, but work it kicking my ass.  I'm so tired.  *yawns* Ok so let's get on with what really matters: POLISH!  I swatched this one so long ago and basically forgot about it.  I've had it forever and I wear it all the time and I'll show you why.
Nicole by OPI Too Rich For You is one of my favorite polishes.  First of all, I love any polish that is "almost black".  IRL it doesn't look this colorful.  Second of all...well, I guess there isn't anything else.  It's just beautiful.  It is a sparkly, dark teal gem that really glows from within.  If I remember correctly, this was 3 coats, but it builds up nicely.  You may be able to get away with 2.

I also wanted to see a nice glitter over this so I layered on 2 coats of L.A.Colors Treasure Island.
This looks like a really great start to a Galaxy Mani.  Don't you think?  I've only done it once, but I may have to use these to do it again.  I Treasure Island at Dollar Tree just to see how good it was, but I didn't expect such a gorgeous color from the looks of the bottle.  The bottle looks like one solid color of glitter, but as you can see, there are at least two: turquoise and green.  There may even be some blue.

Ugh all that glitter makes me want to die!  I will for sure be using this again...and again, and again.  LOL!  So again, sorry this is late.  I have to post on my other blog now.  SO TIRED and then work at 9am! ):

Water Marble Wednesday

OMG!  This is so late.  I got off work at 6 and then it took me and hour to get home.  Then I had to shower, eat, ugh.  So much and then I was finally able to complete the water marble.
There it is!  So my girl Smashley Sparkles found this gorg scarf at Target (photo below) and so we decided to do some kind of stripe pattern.  This was the fastest and, surprisingly, easiest water marble I've ever done.  The polishes I chose even worked on the first try.  Lucky me I guess.

WHAT I USED:
Julep Meryl
Ulta Blue Streak
Sinful Colors Innocent

Fish Egg Friday

*EDIT:  I JUST WANTED TO SAY, LET'S NOT FORGET WHERE WE SAW IT FIRST.*

Or what some bloggers are deeming "the mani that shall not be named".  Well I haven't tried one and so I decided now was the appropriate time. *evil laugh*  If you're a little confused, check these bad boys out.
The base color I used was 3 coats of Sinful Colors Serena and Chloe.  I thought the orange sparkle brought out the yellow and orange beads.

Hmm it looks a lot like fish eggs right?  Or roe?  Or...what is that other word?  I think it starts with a "C".  Hmm or it could be sprinkles!  I think I picked good colors for sprinkles.  The bullion beads came from the nail wheels I bought off Bundle Monster.  The colors come separate but I mixed them for this.  There is orange, pink, magenta, green, yellow, and a few black.

OPI Pirouette My Whistle Again...But Better!

LOL!  This is just a quick post, but I had mentioned that I wanted to layer OPI PMW over OPI Sweet Memories.  So I did. (:
I just love Sweet Memories and PMW looks way better over this than OPI My Pointe Exactly.  Don't you think?

Enjoy!

New Blog!

Just a heads up.  I started a new fashion blog today.  It's something I've wanted to do for a long time, but just never did.  Today I felt really inspired to put my style out there for you all to see and comment on.  There will be clothes, makeup, shoes, shopping hauls, and more.  I really hope you like what you see.

Fashion. Glitter. Rock & Roll! is up and running!  Don't forget to follow and comment if you like it.

Water Marble Wednesday - Neon

I really think this is my new favorite day of the week, but I'm not gonna lie.  This weeks water marble was a bitch.  Smashley Sparkles and I decided on neon colors with a flower design.  First, I couldn't get the right combination of colors.  They were just running together forming muddy, unrecognizable blobs...gross!  Then, I couldn't get all the colors to spread so I was getting layers of skin and then gobs of polish all in a mish mash.  So I just started switching out polishes and colors and making shit up just to get through it.  Finally 4 HOURS LATER, I completed my first finger.

LOL naw I'm just kidding, but for real.  It took me nearly 4 hours to successfully complete this.  However, I've received more compliments on this water marble than any other I've done to date.
This is my right hand and the first hand I completed.  I forgot to show my thumb, but it's just my accent nail so it's a solid color.  I definitely think this came out more psychedelic, 60s looking rather than flower petals, but I sure did try.  I guess it's just how you look at it.
This is my left hand.  I was so fed up with these colors that I just wanted to do a couple of fun accent nails with the water marble.  I meant to do my thumb too, but then I forgot and painted it orange.  Oh well.

WHAT I USED:
Sally Hansen White Tip - 2 coat base color
China Glaze Señorita Bonita - purple
OPI Dating a Royal - blue
China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada - green
Zoya Paz - orange
Sinful Colors Pink - pink

Happy Blogging!

Sponge Gradient Mani

Hey Guys!
I really love doing gradient manis but I usually don't do them completely with a sponge.  I always paint on a coat of polish, let it dry, then use the sponge to dab another color to the tip.  This time I painted a gradient ON the sponge and laid it directly on my nail.  I'm not sure which version I like better, but this was super easy and it came out okay.  I just did two accent nails on each hand in two different colors.
So this was my first attempt and my lightest pink was too light to blend properly.  I do like that I accidentally got a half moon mani out of it.
WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Flutter - lightest pink
Jesse's Girl Cupcake Frosting - pink
Jesse's Girl Fashion Friday - purple tip and other nails
This is my second attempt and it didn't blend quite as well, but I like this one better.  I had to go back and do the gradient with the polish brush.  I also got a stupid nick on my pointer finger because I refused to wait until it was dry.
WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Love Nails - lightest blue
Jesse's Girl Girl's Night Out - blue
OPI Dating a Royal - darker blue and other nails

Overall I'm not sure I like this method.  Maybe it's a practice-makes-perfect type of thing.  I will for sure try it again so I can get it right.

Have a great Tuesday!

Kleancolor Chunky Holo Clover

Happy Monday!
I know Monday sucks for most people so I decided to pick a happy color, aka green, and a happy layer, aka Chunky Holo Clover, just to brighten everyone's day.  I used one coat of Zoya Veruschka and then I added 2 coats of Clover.  And in pure Danielle fashion, I had to mattify it.
I'm not sure I need to say much about it except that it's BEAUTIFUL.  Then I added a matte top coat and it's still BEAUTIFUL.  I know it's not much, but I hope it makes you guys feel stress-free for at least a minute.

Del Sol Spike = FAIL

Happy Easter!

I hope today went well for everyone.  I didn't get to do a super fun mani or anything like that so I was just going to show off my color changing mani instead.  It was a total fail.  I'm not sure why because it's worked all the times I've used it before.
As most of you probably know, Del Sol sells polish that changes color in the sun.  This is my one and only.  My sis gave it to me a few years back and I love it.  It's a pearly mint color with a wonderful formula.  After I applied my 2 coats and they were completely dry, I went out side and had my camera ready for magic.
Ummmm...magic?  Where are you?
As you can see, the color in the sun is supposed to be a pearly bright pink color and it totally used to be.  What I ended up with this time was a silvery, grey with a touch of green.  Where did my pink go?  THIS is what I was really hoping for.

So happy Easter anyway. ):

China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada and China Glaze Sour Apple

Hey!!

I said I wanted it and now it's ALL MINE!  Oh and I thought In the Limelight was bright...not quite.  This is also the first of many green manis to come in the next few days.  I've been in a green mood again and I bought quite a few of them on my last shopping trip.  lol.
So I love the color and the formula, but as you can see I did get some dragging and bald spots.  I let each coat dry completely but it seemed like the more I added, the worse it got.  Eh whatev.  I guess if you have any suggestions, let me know.  Maybe when the formula thickens a little, it won't be so bad.

Since I wasn't completely happy with it, I just had to add some glitter, of course.  It's called Sour Apple and I just love how it looks in the bottle.  On the nail, it's even better, but in photos, it just wasn't showing properly.
Sour Apple has the same opalescent glitter as butterLONDON Tart With a Heart, but just in a green jelly base.  It's part of the Fun in the Sun collection from Summer 2011 (right?).  Once I put this on, I knew I had to have the rest of the collection too.  That will probably be my next goal when I have another spree with my girl Smashley Sparkles.  She found this one for me!

Have a super fun Saturday!

OPI Pirouette My Whistle

I know this one has been on a lot of blogs lately but it's one of my favorite polishes right now, so I'm gonna post my photos too.  *sticks tongue out*
I don't need to say much about it because I'm sure you've all read it before a hundred times.  I layered 2 coats over OPI My Pointe Exactly but I wish I had put it over my favorite OPI, Sweet Memories.  How gorgeous would that be?  I'm gonna do it and I'll put it up on my Facebook page for you all to see.

Enjoy the beginning of your weekend and be safe.

Water Marble Wednesday - Spring Colors

YEAH!!  I'm so happy Water Marble Wednesday is back.  I loved doing the Girly Girl Challenge, but I was jonesin' to get back to water marbling.  Also, I wanted to welcome Ashley from Smashley Sparkles.  She will be joining me on Wednesdays and she came up with today's theme...Spring Colors!

I definitely wanted to use shimmers, pastel colors, and glitter...oh glitter.  Bad idea.

There it is!  After I added the glitter, I immediately wanted to take it off.  I think it really takes away from the water marble which is such a shame, because it's so pretty.  Anyway, I used a spiral design in the water because I have never successfully done it before, but it worked out perfectly on my first try.  I tried to get a different part of the spiral on each of my fingers so if you enlarge the photos, you'll see what I'm talking about.

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Firefly - base coat
Sinful Colors Firefly
Sinful Colors Cinderella
Jesse's Girl JulieG Cupcake Frosting
Ulta Starstruck - glitter top coat

Let me know what you think?  If you want to join us next Wednesday, go right ahead.  I love seeing everyone's marbling.  Mainly because I'm jealous of how they turn out.  lol.

OPI Warm & Fozzie

I am so happy I found this.  It was on my wishlist since the very first time I saw it.  lol.  I speak like it's the love of my life.  It's not but it sure it pretty.
Warm & Fozzie is a bronze/gold foil with flecks of pink or red...i can't really tell.  This is so different from anything I own.  Formula wise, it was a little patchy so I needed 3 coats and I still got some dragging, but I don't think it's that noticable.

Happy Blogging!

Zoya Savita

I friggin' love this polish, but it looks so sad on my nails.  I'll show you why...

LOOK AT MY POOR MIDDLE FINGER NAIL...WAAHH!  It broke on the way home from my 6th, yeah count it, 6th interview.  I think I got the job finally.
I am total sucker for matte polish ♥.  And even though I own a matte top coat, Zoya velvets have the greatest finish and texture.  Ugh!  I'm dying just looking at it.  I also want to add that I think Zoya makes the best purples!     The ones I have are 1 coaters, but I always do 2 just for kicks.

Enjoy the rest of your night!

Sinful Colors Glass Pink

Yes I know.  Another Sinful Colors polish?  I just can't get enough of them lately.  It's not like any of them are new, I just really wanted to wear them.  lol.

I really think this is such a pretty, dainty, girly pink.  It does have clear glass flecks and applies wonderfully.  It's a great palette cleanser, especially if you don't want to go completely nude.  If you can't find this in the core line, make sure you double check the Sheer Shimmers display before you give up.  That's where I found mine even though it wasn't on the regular display rack.

Have a great night and I'll have more pretties for you tomorrow. (:
