Hey Everyone!
So this is my first post and I hope you enjoy everything I have in store for you.
Today I wanted to show you one of my favorite nail techniques to use. It is called 'water marbling'. Basically, you drip your polish in water and create patterns (ie swirls, hearts). Then when you have your desired design, just dip your nail and now you have a one-of-a-kind nail design. Below is a step by step on how to create this unique look for yourself. Here we go!
What You Need:
base coat and top coat
2 or more of your favorite polishes
a small cup or bowl of room temperature filtered water (very important part)
Scotch tape
toothpicks or orange sticks
paper towel
scissors
Step by Step:
1. After you put on your base coat, you may want to paint your nails with a white polish to make the marbling stand out better.
2. Now take the tape and place it around your nail making sure to leave the tape loose on the sides and the back of your finger. The point is to cover your skin but leave the nail exposed.
3. Take the polishes you chose and drip them in the water by alternating the colors and the finished product should look like a bulls eye.
4. Now take a toothpick and gently swirl the colors to create a pattern that you like. After each stroke, you should wipe the polish off the toothpick onto a paper towel.
5. Slowly dip the taped nail into the part of the pattern you like best. Leave your finger in the water.
6. Remove the remaining polish from the water with the toothpick and slowly remove your finger.
7. Now take your scissors and cut a part of the tape that is loose and carefully pull the tape off and toss it.
8. You may want to wait at least 10-20 minutes for your nails to dry since the water slows down the drying process. Then apply a top coat and you are good to go.

If you try it out I would love to see some pics, and if you need more help just visit Simple Little Pleasures. I don't know her, but she has some AMAZING tutorials and tips for water marbling.

*I also like to use dryer spray to help with the drying.*
Here are a couple of pics of my water marbling I did tonight.
