Leopard Mani for International Nail Art Day!

How could you not love that color combination?  I am so tired I could just faceroll right now, but I wanted to put something pretty on my nails before bed.  I just chose the quickest mani I could think of that wasn't completely plain.

Well here it is!  I really like how this one turned out.  My boyfriend always says how my leopard manis look like camo print...I don't really get how that is, but that's what he says.  This is the first one he said looked like leopard.  lol He's a goof.  Anyway, I used one coat of Ulta High Roller for the gold base, then added random leopard spots using Zoya Phoebe, the blue, and Zoya Codie (which just so happens to by my boyfriend's name - but with a Y and not an IE) which is the dark brown.

Here is one photo of my hand slanted to take the metallic shine away.  Now you can really see the print without being severely blinded by the gold.  I totally didn't even realize today was International Nail Art Day so I'm happy I could bust something out in such a short time (I had to work today) and join in the fun.  (:

Leopard Print and Gradient Mani

Hey Guys!  I'm back from the dead.  lol No actually I'm finally moved in and unpacked in my new place.  We had issues with our internet when we moved in as well so we were bored out or our minds for 5 days.  I also broke most of my nails when we were moving the furniture and all so now that my nubs are a little more grown out, I knew I could finally make some manis happen.

I was going through my stash trying to find a fun color to wear that I haven't worn in a long time so I chose essence Choose Me.  Perfect name, right?!  Since my Melmer drawers are in such disarray from the car ride over (all the bottles tipped over and are all mixed up now), this little guy made his way up to the front of the drawer and so he was "The Chosen One".

So here it is...the finished product!  I thought I would mix it up and do some leopard print and a gradient.  On my ring and middle fingers I used China Glaze Four Leaf Clover and OPI Designer...de Better! to create the leopard print.

On my pinky, pointer, and thumb I used Designer...de Better! to create the gradient.  I didn't use a sponge like I normally would because I really didn't feel like making a mess tonight and also being covered in silver shimmer.  I just did it using the brush which I haven't done in a super long time.  I forgot how much I liked that effect.

I love how the whole mani sparkles and is super shiny.  My favorites are the ones that blind you in a good way.  lol

Well I am so happy to be back blogging and to be all settled in my place.  There shall be lots of fun manis coming soon.  Night!!

Leopard Drip Mani

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope your weekend was great and you are prepared for a new week.  Monday's are always blah but I try to make the best of them eventhough I have to be at work an hour earlier than usual tomorrow.  Wah!  Anyway, whatever.  There's not much I can do about it, but I can show you my awesome drip mani.

I always see the drips coming from the tip of the nail, but I really like to do things reverse-style.  I like my gradients reversed as well.  I don't know why.  I guess I like to mix it up a bit.

So I started with 2 coats of a pretty lavender polish and then added the black and silver leopard spots from the middle to the free edge of my nails.  Then for the hardest part, I used a berry colored polish and a nail art brush to create the drips.  Then I just added the white accents to give some dimension to them and there you have it!  My leopard drip mani!  At first glance it looked like my cuticles were bleeding, but then I decided to say it looked like I stuck my nails in raspberry jam.  lol

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth - lavender base color
Zoya Trixie/BB Couture Dark Knight - leopard spots
Sinful Colors Truth of Dare - berry colored drips

Zoya Zara w/ Leopard Print

Is anyone else so excited that it's February?  I know it seems like just another month, but a lot goes on for me this month.  I have my 6 year anniversary, my 2 year blogiversary, lots of exciting work stuff!  I am also trying to revamp my blog layout just a little bit so keep an eye out.  You may see some things you like.  Speaking of things we like, I have a Zoya!

This is Zoya Zara.  I have had it for so long and have yet to try it and actually like it.  So I tried it again, and I love it.  I guess I'm just really happy with my nails right now so that helps a lot.  I'm not a huge fan of pastels, but it's a shimmer and I DIE for shimmers!  And like I always say, Zoya has the BEST purple polish, hands down!  This was 3 coats and I have to say the formula is just amazing.  I don't know why I thought it would be thin or runny, but I had no application problems at all.

My favorite part about this polish is the gold shimmer.  You can see it in the bottle a little bit, but when you get it on the nail it really stands out.  This polish also dried pretty glossy, but I did add a top coat just for the hell of it.

Ooh look at this cute purple leopard print!  I have been working with and creating monochromatic tones at work for the past month or so, and it's really growing on me so I wanted to bring that technique into my nail art.  I really love how this came out.  I feel like it's a tame version of a Lisa Frank print.  lol

Color Club Sweet Pea - lighter purple spots
Zoya Savina - dark purple spots
