Water Marble Wednesday

And here we are again with another edition of Water Marble Wednesday.  I didn't post one last week because it was the first day free from the 31DC and I needed a few days to post what I wanted to.  Not that I don't like Water Marble Wednesday but I hope you get what I'm saying.  I guess I could call it a break from "required" posts.  Anyway...
Today's water marble is an emerald green and pink diagonal design with some holo pigment in there.  I did the whole marble over a fuchsia creme polish but that one didn't want to work in the water so I used Zoya Micky for my pink color.  The emerald green is Sally Hansen Emerald Express and then I used Above the Curve Everyday is a Holo-day for something extra special.

So that's it for the mani.  I also wanted to let you all know that next Wednesday starts a string of really great guest posts from other bloggers.  I am going on vacation and won't be able to post and promote my own manis so be on the lookout for those.  Then when I come back on the 24th (my birthday...woot!) I will start my 7 Days of Halloween series.  I can't wait for you all to see what we have in store for you.  Have a great day!

Water Marble Wednesday

And I'm back with another Water Marble Wednesday.  I think people are starting to catch on...right?  lol  For some reason this one was a super duper tough.  The colors didn't want to work together and then I was fumbling with everything.  I think I got more polish on my left hand than the actual nails.  It was just a disaster getting it done but it came out pretty good.
I used the starburst design and for most of my nails it worked out.  Yeah I'm look at your middle finger!  The colors I chose were Jesse's Girl Julie G Party Dress which is an orange-y red color.  I used Ulta Blue Streak for the blue (duh), OPI Big Apple Red for the red (duh again) and Color Club Blue-ming for the mint color.
Just a heads up, I'm most likely going to do this same design next week with different polishes of course because I don't feel like I perfected it.  I like it, but it's not amazing IMO.  I also don't know why I chose a color combo that I absolutely hate.  lol It's just not my day for water marbling.

Have a great Hump Day!

Water Marble Wednesday

Afternoon!  Welcome back to another Water Marble Wednesday.  Today was probably one of the most successful marbling days I've had in awhile.  Let's take a look.  (:
I love the idea of doing different types of nail art over gradients, especially water marbles.  It can be a bit difficult though to find a clear polish that wants to cooperate with the colored polish.  Today I decided to make it a bit easier on myself and use a sheer glass-flecked top coat instead of just plain clear polish and it worked!
First I did my gradient using China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy - coral, Jesse's Girl JulieG Fashion Friday - purple, and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover - teal.  On a side note, I just noticed that I used all polish names that begin with the letter "F".  That was not intentional.
Anyway, back to the mani.  After my gradient dried, I taped off my nails and started my bulls-eye in the water using a plain white creme polish from NYC and Zoya LA Pop, the sheer glass-flecked top coat.  I made a chevron kinda design in the water and tried to dip my nail to where the "points" were completely vertical.  I think I pulled it off though.  The design is still not as perfect as I would like, but it's just nail art for fun anyway.  (:
Now I have to get ready for work so I won't get to talk to you all for a whole 8 hours.  With that being said, please let me know what you think of this amazing water marble.  You can leave all your comments below and/or comment on my Facebook page.  Have a great day!  (:

Water Marble Wednesday

Hey Everyone!

Another edition of Water Marble Wednesday is here and it's kind of a boring one.  lol I only wanted to use two colors this time so I tried to make it interesting.
How interesting can two colors get?  Well if I did an ombre water marble, that could be interesting right?  I don't even know why I didn't go all the way ombre but I did use three different shades of pink and not just the two that you see above.  I messed up my thumb so there is no photo of it unfortunately.  On it I used a darker pink, Jesse's Girl JulieG Cupcake Frosting.  The lightest pink is OPI Sweet Memories and the darker pink is Sinful Soul Mate and then the silver is Zoya Trixie.

Have a great night! (:

Water Marble Wednesday...

...was a bad idea.  lol.  I am really happy that Jacki from Adventures in Acetone decided to post a water marble today as well because hers turned out great.  Mine?  Not so much.  It was a good idea in my head but the execution was not what I imagined.  Let's take a look.
Why is it so bumpy and weird looking?  lol Well that's the result of the "great idea" I had.  I thought it would be really cool to use a textured polish as part of my water marble.  I started with one coat of a lighter green color that I actually didn't end up using in the design.  Then I used Sally Hansen Sugar Fix (the texture), Milani Nail Art Green Sketch, and Hard Candy Envy.  I just used the traditional flower design but because of the texture, it didn't come out right each time.

I don't think it's terrible, but it sure isn't super pretty.  However, I am glad I tried it.  At least now I know, right?  Now that I've slightly tortured you with this mani, see Jacki's beautiful water marble HERE.  I'm not sure if she'll be able to join me every week, but if any other bloggers out there would like to please feel free.  Let me know so I can link to you!  (:

Water Marble Wednesday - Blue

This week's Water Marble Wednesday is brought to you by the color BLUE!  I really thought it would be fun to do one the color of water since it happen's in water.  I used four different types of blue but all the polishes are cremes.  I honestly don't think I've ever done one with all cremes before.  It was different.
I started with one coat of the lightest blue which is the periwinkle color and then I started my design.  I just made the bulls eye in the water and then made "stripes" in by pulling the toothpick in opposite directions.  I guess it's more of a chevron type design...I don't really know what to call it.
I did screw up my pinky a bit because I thought I had cleaned up all of the excess polish from the water.  However I didn't see the tiny bit on the other side of my finger so when I took my finger out, there was a huge glob stuck there.  Gross.  lol  I would have redone it, but honestly it was 10pm and I was super sleepy.  Besides, I'm only human so I'm bound to screw up.  I like to think that's why you all keep coming back.  Because of my quirk and honesty about my imperfections.  (:
So don't mind the dirty looking cuticles either.  It's actually just the navy polish I used.  It stained my cuticles just a bit and I could not for the life of me get it cleaned up properly.  Sorry!

WHAT I USED:
Julep Eloise - navy
China Glaze Four Leaf Clover - teal
Color Club Blue-ming - light blue
Color Club Hydrangea Kiss - periwinkle

Now I have to get ready for work so I will talk to you all later.  Have a great Wednesday!

Water Marble Wednesday - Purple

For this week's water marble I wanted to do something a little different than I normally do.  So instead of multiple colors, I chose just one color in 5 different shades.  I wanted to stay monochromatic but still bright and fun.
I really love how this turned out.  The colors I chose worked perfectly together in the water and I think they look so good together.  I started with one thin coat of Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth just to help the colors pop.   The only issue I had was a few bubbles on a couple of my nails which I'm sure you can see when you enlarge the photos.  Other than that, like I said, it was very easy.  It was like all conditions were perfect today which is normally not the case for me.  lol
WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth
Color Club Lavendarling
Zoya Zara
China Glaze SeƱorita Bonita
Essie Sexy Divide

I listed the polishes in order from lightest to darkest which is how I used them in the mani.  I really enjoy this mani and just don't want to take it off, but tomorrow is another day and another blog post so we'll see what happens.  (:

Water Marble Wednesday

Hooray for another Water Marble Wednesday!  I decided to do a random pattern on each nail.  I didn't even use the colors in the same order for each nail either.  They came out looking like neon wood grain to me.  lol You tell me what you think.
Oh and why did I add a bow?  I really don't know.  It was a better idea in my head and then it was stuck once I decided that it wasn't anymore.  Oh well!

WHAT I USED:
white base
Orly Oh Cabana Boy - pink
Color Club Lava Lamp - orange
popBeauty Loud Lime - green
Milani Blue Print - blue striper polish
China Glaze Creative Fantasy - purple

Water Marble Wednesday

Better late than never right?  I had to work a mid shift today so my morning was spent making this happen and editing the photos and what-not, and now my evening is spent writing up the post.  (:  Enjoy it!
I really liked my last weeks mani with the marble and stamping combo so I did it again.  I know there is a lot going on and I don't care.  I love it!  lol
As you can see, I only did the marble on my pinky, ring and thumb fingers.  With the other 2 I did a 3-color gradient with stamps.  I chose cupcakes because the colors of the whole thing reminded me of sweet treats.  Mmm!  I tried to do 2 different colors for the cupcakes but it didn't quite work out.  The black "wrapper" is too dark and the blue "icing" on the other is too light, but whatevs.  I still think it's such a fun mani that those things don't matter.
When it was all complete I wasn't really digging the shine so I used a matte top coat and then I was 100% happy with the whole mani.  By the way, I used like 5 colors for the marble.  Crazy right?  I just love how the whole "rainbow" came out though.

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Unicorn (not seen) - pastel yellow base color
Color Club Wing Fling - pink
Wet 'n' Wild 9021-Orange - orange
China Glaze Lighthouse - yellow - it didn't really show up ):
Color Club Fly With Me - light green
Color Club Metamorphosis - teal green
Love & Beauty Black Glitter
Bundle Monster plate bm-14

Wednesday Water Marble

I have been waiting for this day since last week because I had such an amazing marble mani planned for you all.  Little did I know that it would be a total nightmare.  It came out great, but the process was nothing but trouble. I'm so tired of messing with it, I'm just gonna jump right in and show it to you.

What I HATE about this mani...the process, like I said, was a total nightmare and the bubbles.  Oh the bubbles.  Those little bastards.  What I LOVE about this mani...EVERYTHING ELSE!  I am so pleased with this and it came out exactly like I had envisioned.  This is a mani I will def recreate in the future, and if you want to, then here's what I used.

WHAT I USED:
popBeauty Flamingo Hollar - pink base 1 coat
Zoya Charisma - fuschia sponged in center
Zoya Ibiza - dark blue sponged on tip
Wet 'n' Wild clear and Black Creme for marble

Let me know what you think and if you try this out, I would love to see it!  And I'm not sure if she will be able to crank one out, but check out Ashley's blog too!  (:

Wednesday Water Marble

Hello there!

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever.  I mean, I really haven't.  I just haven't felt very motivated to much of anything, let alone change my nail polish.  I did it though.  I figured you were all anticipating the Wednesday Water Marble.  I'm still mad at myself for missing the one from a couple weeks ago.  It was the "Boyfriend's Pick" from what I recall.  He sure did pick, but it just never happened.  I really need to make that one up to you guys...or girls.  lol.  So I've been wanting to do an all yellow water marble, but I don't own so many different yellows that you'd even be able to see the contrast.  Soooo, instead Ashley and I agreed on a sunset inspired marble.  That was I still get to use my yellows, but it will have a little something extra.  Here is my inspiration photo.

Nothing special.  Just a lovely yellow/orange sky with a pop of purple or pink.  Whatever.  So here's what I came up with.

See it's "sunset-y.  Like a sunset.  I'm really digging it."  If you know what that's from then awesome.  If not, then I'll tell you it's one of my fave movies of all time.  Don't think I'm a nerd or anything, but Baby Mama is one of the most hilarious movies I've ever seen a hundred times.  But back to the mani.

I tried to make the purple really subtle and light so I used mostly yellows and only the one drop of purple every 4 rings.  Make sense?  lol

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Firefly - 1 coat for base
Sinful Colors Firefly
China Glaze Lighthouse
OPI Peach-a-Boo! - 3 drops for each time
China Glaze SeƱorita Bonita

I totally messed up my pointer finger.  I have no idea what I smudged it on or that I had even smudged it all. I used the same technique as the Fire Marble just cuz I wanted to.  lol And then I used a swirl on my thumb just to see how it would turn out.  I'm very happy with this one and I hope you all are too.

Water Marble Wednesday

Hey Ladies!

I hope you all are having a better week than I am.  It's been terrible, and I just hate my job more and more everyday.  I really want it to work out, but I'm just not sure this is the job for me.  IDK but anyway, I won't burden you all with all that shit.  (:

Today, Ashley and I are using water as our theme for the water marble.  Clever, huh?  Chock that up to Ashley. (:  I can't believe I never thought of it sooner.  So obviously I chose blue, but I added some teal in there  to make it look a little tropical and summery.  It didn't work (lol) but it still looks like water to me.

I used a half swirl pattern to create the effect of waves and I marbled over white.  Ya know when the waves crash and the water gets that white foam of bubbles?  That's why I used white.  I think my pointer finger came out the best.

WHAT I USED:
white base coat
Orly Snowcone - baby blue
Jesse's Girl Julie G Mermaid's Lagoon - turquoise w/ gold shimmer
See Sarah Swatch Franken Angel's Stream - teal  w/ flakies and glitter

I hope you all enjoy this and that it makes you want to go to the beach.  I know I do, but the beach here is nasty.  At least I didn't do one inspired by Galveston water...ew. :\  This many would be shit brown.  lol.

Water Marble Wednesday

Hey!  This is gonna be super quick because I'm running into my Diablo 3 time.  lol.  Today's theme was "Grab Bag" water marble.  Basically I have boxes of nail polish.  I closed my eyes and chose 1 from each box.  Literally my eyes were closed.  This is what I made out with.

The clean up was a nightmare because the random colors were so dark.  I wish you all could see it IRL becuase it looks pretty awesome.  These photos don't do it justice.  Don't for get to check out Ashley's water marble today too.  I'm in such a hurry, I haven't even seen it. (:

WHAT I USED:
OPI Animalistic - 1 base coat and red in marble
OPI Lincoln Park After Dark
Sinful Colors What's Your Name?

So, you like?

Water Marble Wednesday

Yea!  I finally finished my water marble.  The clean up was a nightmare because I ran out of tape.  And of course I had to use the most saturated polishes I own, right?

WHAT I USED:
white base coat
CG Kiwi Cool-ada
Zoya Dannii
Zoya Charisma
Zoya Zuza

Ashley of Smashley Sparkles suggested we do a water marble with our favorite colors together.  Hers is purple and mine is green so there you go.  I really love how it came out, however Zoya Zuza is no bueno for water marbling.  It spread really well, but when I started to make my design, it spread even more.  I was trying to do stripes, but the lines were getting thicker and jagged.  You can see what I'm talking about on my thumb.  I also got a lot of bubbles on my ring finger and when I applied my top coat, they all popped and left white spots.  With all the issues I had, like I said, I love how it turned out.

Don't forget to stop by Smashley Sparkles blog and see what she came up with.

Water Marble Wednesday is on Fire

Literally!  Ashley of Smashley Sparkles and I agreed on a fire marble this week so I hope you checked hers out because mine is a total fail.

I'm not sure why it doesn't look like fire on the nail.  It looked super fiery in the water and I dipped in the best parts and then I got this.  The only one I like is my thumb nail even though it has a small vagina on it.  LOL.  Sorry but it does.

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Firefly - one base coat
WnW Black Creme - black
OPI Big Apple Red - red/CG Ruby Pumps for my thumb
WnW 9021-Orange - orange
CG Lighthouse - yellow

What do you guys think?  Have you tried the fire pattern?

Water Marble Wednesday

OMG!  This is so late.  I got off work at 6 and then it took me and hour to get home.  Then I had to shower, eat, ugh.  So much and then I was finally able to complete the water marble.
There it is!  So my girl Smashley Sparkles found this gorg scarf at Target (photo below) and so we decided to do some kind of stripe pattern.  This was the fastest and, surprisingly, easiest water marble I've ever done.  The polishes I chose even worked on the first try.  Lucky me I guess.

WHAT I USED:
Julep Meryl
Ulta Blue Streak
Sinful Colors Innocent

Water Marble Wednesday - Neon

I really think this is my new favorite day of the week, but I'm not gonna lie.  This weeks water marble was a bitch.  Smashley Sparkles and I decided on neon colors with a flower design.  First, I couldn't get the right combination of colors.  They were just running together forming muddy, unrecognizable blobs...gross!  Then, I couldn't get all the colors to spread so I was getting layers of skin and then gobs of polish all in a mish mash.  So I just started switching out polishes and colors and making shit up just to get through it.  Finally 4 HOURS LATER, I completed my first finger.

LOL naw I'm just kidding, but for real.  It took me nearly 4 hours to successfully complete this.  However, I've received more compliments on this water marble than any other I've done to date.
This is my right hand and the first hand I completed.  I forgot to show my thumb, but it's just my accent nail so it's a solid color.  I definitely think this came out more psychedelic, 60s looking rather than flower petals, but I sure did try.  I guess it's just how you look at it.
This is my left hand.  I was so fed up with these colors that I just wanted to do a couple of fun accent nails with the water marble.  I meant to do my thumb too, but then I forgot and painted it orange.  Oh well.

WHAT I USED:
Sally Hansen White Tip - 2 coat base color
China Glaze SeƱorita Bonita - purple
OPI Dating a Royal - blue
China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada - green
Zoya Paz - orange
Sinful Colors Pink - pink

Happy Blogging!

Water Marble Wednesday - Spring Colors

YEAH!!  I'm so happy Water Marble Wednesday is back.  I loved doing the Girly Girl Challenge, but I was jonesin' to get back to water marbling.  Also, I wanted to welcome Ashley from Smashley Sparkles.  She will be joining me on Wednesdays and she came up with today's theme...Spring Colors!

I definitely wanted to use shimmers, pastel colors, and glitter...oh glitter.  Bad idea.

There it is!  After I added the glitter, I immediately wanted to take it off.  I think it really takes away from the water marble which is such a shame, because it's so pretty.  Anyway, I used a spiral design in the water because I have never successfully done it before, but it worked out perfectly on my first try.  I tried to get a different part of the spiral on each of my fingers so if you enlarge the photos, you'll see what I'm talking about.

WHAT I USED:
Sinful Colors Firefly - base coat
Sinful Colors Firefly
Sinful Colors Cinderella
Jesse's Girl JulieG Cupcake Frosting
Ulta Starstruck - glitter top coat

Let me know what you think?  If you want to join us next Wednesday, go right ahead.  I love seeing everyone's marbling.  Mainly because I'm jealous of how they turn out.  lol.
